We kicked off the year with a roaring 20s party, and we’re keeping the fun going with our Dancing Through the Decades series! Each month we will host an event celebrating a decade with costumes and dancing. Join us on January 17th in the Speakeasy for the 1930s! Starting at 8 PM we’ll have a DJ playing swing and jazz from the era, and there will be a costume contest so be sure to dress up for the chance to win some prizes!
Need some inspiration? In the 1930s, swing, blues and jazz music were mainstream. 1930s fashion included diagonal cut evening gowns in satin and silks, tweed suits, flounces and frills and topped off with a cute beret or tilt hat. The Wizard of Oz was also released in the late 30s, and two of the world’s most iconic superheroes were introduced in comic books; Superman first appeared in 1938, and Batman in 1939.
Free admission, 21+ event.
